I’m so excited to share some of my favorite little details from our wedding day. My goal for how this wedding would feel was classic, rustic glam. I wanted it to feel warm and romantic with lots of creams and ivories and gold. The details were what I had the most fun with while planning, and here are the things I thought were worth it. First thing’s first, I want to give all the praise to my photographer, Laura Moll. She was in the hospital the morning of my wedding and still showed up to shoot our wedding (without missing a beat and making everything perfect, I might add.)
Starting it off with ordering a ring box off of Amazon that matched my colors! My jeweler gave us a blue box, but I knew I wanted the whole detail shot to look clean and bright. It was an easy $13 detail that made a huge difference.
When the ceremony started, I knew I wanted a champagne pass to kick the evening off. Let’s be real, at weddings you’re running into a lot of people you haven’t seen in years, don’t really want to see, (or do), and meeting tons of new people. I thought a champagne pass would lighten the mood instantly and I’m so happy we did that!
The getting ready robes! When I saw this was my most-asked question, I’m serious! The robes are by Robed With Love and they’re all hand-made. I’m still obsessed with everything about them! (“MEGANMACE” gets you 15% off if you want to get some for your big day!)
Ahhhh, the bridesmaids dresses!!! These dresses by Show Me Your Mumu blew me away. They looked beautiful on camera and on my girls. I went with the champagne luxe satin for a timeless, beautiful feel. My girls wore the “Jasmine” and the “Godshaw Goddess” dresses.
Now these next little details were my absolute favorite. For our dinner napkins, we had custom paper napkins made by For Your Party. They said “Dinner with the McKays” and they matched our theme perfectly. You can get this exact design here.
Next, we knew we were going to have a sparkler send-off, so we thought adding a personal touch there would be fun as well! We used For Your Party for these custom designs as well. We had sparkler sleeves and custom matchbooks!
MY CAKE. I mean, this cake was what my wedding cake dreams were made of. Copper Whisk Cakes absolutely killed it. For my topper, I found this cute custom piece on Etsy! I’m so happy I decided to get one as I was on the fence about it. You can find the exact topper here.
Now, here are some more detailed shots of my beautiful cake. We went with Salted Caramel with Toffee pieces for half, and classic funfetti for the other half!
The most special part about the cake-cutting experience was that Witt’s Grandmother gave us the same cake knife to use that she and Witt’s grandfather used to cut their wedding cake.
Now, here’s a close up of my bouquet. Peonies are my all-time favorite flower, so I was freaking out in the best way when I saw my bouquet. In fact, that’s what made the whole day “hit.” I started sobbing when I saw it. Carre at White Blooms Floral did an absolutely incredible job on all of my florals. All of the flowers were sourced from Fifty Flowers and they were perfection.
Now, here are some more pictures of the flowers. This turned out to be my favorite thing to see on our wedding day. Also, no one talks about how incredible and fragrant the room smells when you use real flowers! I was blown away.
I also loved the detailed florals that were behind the chairs on the ceremony lawn. I thought they ended up looking so glamorous and fun.
THE MARQUEE LETTERS!!! We used Alpha Lit Nashville to have “The McKays” be the first thing everyone saw when they walked up, and it ended up being the best “Welcome Sign” we could have ever dreamt up. I love how old hollywood and glam it felt. Alpha Lit provides letters all over the country, so if they’re near your location I cannot say enough great things about them. Our cocktail hour was absolute charcuterie board goals, which is exactly what I wanted. We used Witt’s sister’s company, In Good Company. They absolutely blew me away. Everything was incredible, and trust me when I say to splurge for the buffalo dip.
Our wedding paper! We used The Knot for all of our paper, including invitations and wedding programs. They proofed everything for us and everything looked stunning. (PS, if you use code “MEGANWITT15” you’ll get 15% off, too!)
Last but not least, I decided to go with a mirrored seating chart. I found the mirror on Facebook Marketplace for $60, and found the custom decal on Etsy. Linking the exact company I used here. She was so sweet and helpful and got it to me right when I needed it. She even fixed a few edits for me as the seating chart changed.
My drink signs I also found a template for on Etsy! The frames I bought at Michael’s and I’m going to re-use them for wedding pictures. Linking the templates here, and the frames here.
Alright, leaving it at this: if your venue gives you the option to have fireworks, the answer is yes. (Shoutout to Allenbrooke Farms!)
