About Me

Hi everyone! If you’re reading this, you probably follow me on some form of social media. You may have known me through many lives or just started following me today. (Hello!)

Let me take a second to introduce myself; I’m Megan. I’m a Scorpio (November 21, 1992) and the older twin by one minute to my sister, Liz. I grew up in a village in Michigan, and I loved every minute of it.

When Liz and I were 14, we started our YouTube channel, singing. We sang everything from Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift to our originals songs written about our lives. In 2009, Oprah found our videos and decided to put us on the show with our favorite artist, Taylor Swift. After that happened, we decided to pursue music in a serious way.

At 18, we signed our first record deal. We were home schooled the last half of our senior year because we got offered an opening slot for Boyce Avenue. From the age 15-18, it became very clear that music was the path we were meant for. Our YouTube following over the years has since grown to over one million, but we don’t do covers much anymore.

The year 2012 I will always look back on in awe; “did that really happen?”

We won the coveted prize of being “Macy’s iHeart Radio Rising Stars,” then shortly after wrote the song that changed our lives forever, “Bad For Me.”

After we won the contest, it seemed like everything I’d ever wanted came true. We had our song crack Top 40 on pop radio, had it featured in not one, but two national TV commercials, performed in on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and played more radio shows than we could count. I remember counting how many planes I’d been in from the beginning of November until right before Christmas; 42. The next year, we even got to share the writing room with my all-time songwriting idols; Max Martin, Shellback & Savan Kotecha. Needless to say, looking back now, I realize how truly, insanely blessed I was.

I loved my team, I loved everything that was happening. I always felt in my bones that this was something I would do with my life. That’s why when our label announced it’s closure in Early 2014 it nearly wrecked my world.

We struggled. We cried. We yelled. We rebuilt.

Everything in my life has built up to what I’m doing now; what’s that you ask?

For starters, I met my now fiance in a co-write our label set up when we were 16 and 17. We own a clothing boutique, Epic Rain Boutique. Instagram has become my new job along with Epic Rain, and the best part of all? Music is still able to be a huge part of my life.

I’ve always wanted to start a blog, as I used to use Tumblr as my outlet back in the day. I love expressing my words, worries, positive thoughts, and just everything I’m interested in.

With that being said, welcome to my blog. I’ll be talking about everything from music, love, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, interior design and my favorite topic, life.
